Permanent Crew Positions
CREW POSITIONS -
The Soren Larsen is presently seeking people with relevant experience for permanent crew positions for our current South Pacific season.
Our South Pacific voyaging runs from April to November with an extensive deep water passage making and tropical island voyaging through Polynesia and Melanesia.
The ship runs on traditional lines with Master, First Mate and Second Mate and full time engineer, 2 cooks, purser and deckhands. Bosun and ship's carpenter and sailmaker are among those in the deck crew and a first aid/ medical officer included.
Experience of other tallships, traditional wooden vessels and their maintenance is important and a strong focus on giving our voyage crew a unique, memorable, fun, safe experience is essential.
Apply to Sydney Tallships Ltd, Marty Woods via with certs and refs.
The ship sails with up to a crew of 11-13.
1st and 2nd Mate, Engineer, Bosun, Purser, 2 cooks and deckhands.
Obviously shipwrighting, marine engineering experience, caulking and rigging are key skills for crew on a traditional wooden vessel, with a demanding maintenance schedule such as Soren Larsen.
But the ship also requires those with good people skills and a positive attitude.
It should be noted that the rewards involved in being crew are not entirely financial, but we offer a unique learning experience being a part of the team that keeps this iconic tallship sailing.
If you are keen to have your name added to our crew files then contact us.
